2 April 2024

The case:

The client was heading home from work on a scooter, when a 3rd party emerged from a side road failing to give way and collided with our client on the left-hand side, striking her leg and knocking her into their vehicle before falling to the ground.

Numerous injuries occurred including pain to her left hip and leg, clavicle, elbow, wrists, knee, left ankle, lower back and neck and shoulders with grazing to her palms.

Having attended hospital for treatment post the accident, it was initially thought that her injuries could be ligament damage and she was provided with a heavy duty sling for her left arm. However, with continuing pain and discomfort, further treatment was required in terms of physiotherapy to attempt to alleviate her pain.

She has been left with permanent damage to the soft tissue in her neck, an expected 12-month prognosis for healing of the soft tissue in her shoulder and lower back, and an anticipated 2-year recovery via cognitive behavioural therapy from the psychological effects of the accident.

How we helped:

This particular case did proceed to trial at court, and our client received £10,000 more in compensation over and above our initial offer, with a final settlement of £25,000.
