Restaurant accident settlement of £25,000

25 September 2023

Share This Story:

Our client had been dining in a busy restaurant when a waitress dropped a very hot bowl of soup in her lap.

She suffered severe burns to the top of both of her thighs and to the top of her left hand extending to the wrist.  This caused secondary burns and blistering to her hand and legs requiring a referral to a plastic surgeon and the wearing of pressure garments and resulting in a medical prognosis of permanent scarring.

The third party admitted liability for causing the accident which was also captured on the restaurant’s CCTV with accompanying witnesses.

TRUE negotiated with the restaurant’s insurers defendant and obtained a settlement of £25,000 for the client, after establishing that the restaurant had failed to take any reasonable care to ensure her safe use of its premises as a lawful visitor.
