Hospital cleaner suffers needle puncture wound

The case:
Our client was on shift working at a hospital, cleaning the public toilets and emptying the sanitary bins.
In the process of tying up the bag from one bin, a used needle that was stuck to waste came through the bag, puncturing and scratching the 3rd and 4th finger of our client’s right hand.
How we helped:
An absence of needle bins in the toilets and using only basic medical gloves provided to carry out the task, meant the case was settled without dispute in just 4 months, and our client received £2,000 in compensation.
